Brits need travel insurance for breaks at home
If holidaymakers were to suffer an accident, or their property was stolen without having proper travel insurance, they could be out of pocket, especially if they can't use their prepaid accommodation or holiday package.
"The price of some British holidays is now pretty high" says David Gaskell, manager of Schofield Insurance Brokers. "With some large cottages costing over £1,000 a week to hire, you could lose a lot of money if you are forced to go on jury service or a close relative is rushed to hospital."
People are now wondering whether they need travel insurance for a holiday break in-country. For any emergency healthcare requirements, the NHS will take care of the needs of UK residents, so when travel cover is being investigated, looking at policies that do not have a health care provision will lead to less costly premium.
