Travel Hints and Tips

Best Destinations to travel to on the Easter Holiday

The Easter holidays just like any other holiday, such as Christmas is a time for people to relax and to take a break from their daily routines. As the UK is a colder region in relation to the rest of the world, holidays abroad to warmer places for relaxation are increasing. However, with this increased interest for going abroad to other destinations, the holiday season increases in popularity. Today, flights can be found cheaper, with last minute deals, more flexible holiday deals and today destination routes have increased due to the wider choice available.

There are many reasons why people go abroad. Some people go abroad for the scenery, some go for the weather, perhaps anywhere warm is someone's ideal holiday, the history of a place intrigues some people and others may go abroad to visit their family, to be with them for the holidays.

The main holiday destinations this year are the Caribbean, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Tunisia, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Egypt and the Netherlands.

Switzerland, particularly Lucerne, which is located in central Switzerland, is known for its beautiful scenery. The natural scenery of Lake Lucerne and the Swiss mountains help to create this. Greece, particularly Crete, is known for its festivities, for example around Easter they have candle lit processions. The Caribbean demonstrates a warm environment where the resorts include spas which are good for relaxation. Holiday seasons are also popular for honeymoons and the Caribbean is a popular location for this. Italy, in particular Rome is a good location for Easter, from the outstanding views to the Easter festivities, for example mass is held there. Spain, being quite a large island, allows people to get involved in a variety of activities, for example cycling through the flat plains, walking along the cliffs, or seeing the historic sites in Mallorca's city Palma, such as the cathedrals. Portugal, for example the Azores, is a key resort, where people can see the sights and again it is known for its activities. Tunisia, provides warm weather, as well the desert towns and the ancient city of Carthage for people's Easter break. Canada for more adventurous people, which includes the snow resorts for example the Whistler resort, where people can go for a skiing holiday or for snowboarding.

The top Easter holidays are above, but it depends on what relaxation means for that person, some people may prefer to get away to a warm place and do nothing, for example relax at a resort, whereas some prefer to get away for more active holidays, such as skiing.
